Theater Poster

Project Requirements:

I was to create a poster that promotes one of the theatrical productions scheduled for the 2016/2017 season for any chosen company.

​

Intent:

​

The company I chose was Renaissance Theaterworks and the play was The Drowning Girls. I used Photoshop to create this background image and Indesign to place the copy. I wanted to create a morbid poster reflecting the play, so I added crows to symbolize death and hands sticking out of the water to symbolize women drowning. The typeface I chose was Mason Serif OT Bold as I thought it fit the morbid and strange aesthetic of the play.
